TAKING PARTAs a member of Slow Food 4Cs, you'll receive a wide range of other benefits as well as priority booking for all 4Cs events. Slow Food membership is not just about activities in Canberra and the region - it's being a member of a global movement to change attitudes and actions, and taking time to enjoy! Membership of the Slow Food Canberra - Capital & Country Convivium is an annual membership and can be accessed via the Slow Food Australia website. Go to the Slow Food Australia Website and click on the "JOIN" link for further information and prices. About half of the membership fee goes to the international office in Italy to fund Slow Food's vital international projects and programs, mainly in Third World countries. These activities are very important -- they are a tangible way of turning our philosophies into action in places where they can be most effective, especially through the Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity. About 30 per cent is used by Slow Food Australia to fund the development of national projects and events. And our convivium makes good use of the remaining 20 per cent! Each local convivium celebrates its own region. Canberra and its surrounding region is brimming with interest, and our many events reflect this diversity.
